His Excellency, Honourable Mrs. Ousseini Hadizatou YACOUBA, Minister of Mines, Republic of Niger will make a keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd ECOWAS Mining & Petroleum Forum, in Niamey. The three-day conference will focus on the theme “Integrating the mining and petroleum industries in the development of regional value chains” including dedicated sessions of debate.The first day of the live edition in Niamey will bring together expert speakers that will discuss the integration of the mining and petroleum industries in the development of regional value chains; the investment climate in extractive industries; certificate of environmental conformity and integration of environmental management practices in the ECOWAS region; investing capital and mitigating risks.
The second and third days of ECOMOF 2021 are addressed to Niger’s mining, oil & gas sectors; local content policy and the geological potential – the case of ECOWAS Member states; strategies to put science and innovation at the service of responsible extractive activity in West Africa; the planned oil and gas activities; the development of regional value chain for inclusive governance of the extractive sector; gold market in West Africa; the energy demand; the sustainable development network, and much more.
This regional mining and petroleum forum and exhibition will gather the highest-ranking government delegations from the ECOWAS West African Member States: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo. The event will feature the key public and private sector decision-makers in the West African mining and petroleum industries.
The face-to-face edition of the 3rd ECOWAS Mining & Petroleum Forum, in Niamey, will allow the participants to network in person. ECOMOF 2021’s opening ceremony will take a place at the Centre International de Conférence Mahatma Ghandi and then the event will continue at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Conference Center, Niamey.
